OBD Interface cables
An OBD interface cable is used in combination with a laptop or a computer. With an interface you can read your car for error codes (DTC). After you have made a diagnosis, you can proceed to repair your car. With an interface it is possible to erase error codes, program and view live data.
Interface cables for every car manufacturer
There are various interfaces for sale for every car manufacturer. A number of popular interfaces are the VCDS for the Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda etc. FiCOM (Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia) and FCOM (Ford and Mazda). In addition, there are interfaces for sale that cover every brand. An example of this is the OBDLink SX. There are also bluetooth adapters. You can plug a bluetooth adapter into the OBD2 port of your car. Data can then be read out via a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Frequently used software is Torque.
