OBD Interface cables
An OBD interface cable is used in combination with a laptop or a computer. With an interface you can read your car for error codes (DTC). After you have made a diagnosis, you can proceed to repair your car. With an interface it is possible to erase error codes, program and view live data.
Interface cables for every car manufacturer
There are various interfaces for sale for every car manufacturer. A number of popular interfaces are the VAGCOM VCDS for the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda etc.), FiCOM (Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia) and FoCOM (Ford and Mazda). In addition, there are interfaces for sale that cover every brand. An example of this is the OBDLink SX. There are also a number of interfaces for sale that do not require a license. This means that these interfaces function with free software, such as the VAG KKL cable for Fiat, the VAG KKL for the VAG group. Keep in mind that a cable with free software has fewer options. There are also bluetooth adapters. You can plug a bluetooth adapter into the OBD2 port of your car. Data can then be read out via a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Frequently used software is Torque.
