Carvitas provides two types of VCP interfaces; a basic version and a CAN + K interface. This interface is a CAN + K line interface!

Audi comments:
1. A4 model 8E version B6
This model has a CAN bus bar (TP1.6), however it is NOT connected to the diagnostic connector. A4 model 8E version B6 can be fully read via dual K-line (VCP+K necessary) using protocols KWP2000 and KWP1281.

2. A4 Model 8E, version B7 & Seat EXEO
This model has a CAN bus bar (TP2.0), only the so-called CAN-Antrieb is connected to the diagnostic connector. This means: engine, transmission, airbag, abs, Quattro drive. For everything else, the double K-line is used. In other words, VCP base supports diagnosis of the B7 model but ONLY within the range of the CAN-Antrieb (engine, transmission, airbag, abs, Quattro drive). All other ECUs are available through the K-line (protocols KWP2000 and KWP1281).
You will need the VCP + K line interface. VCP features guided diagnosis functions (one-click procedures) as a basis for professional use. You can perform complicated service functions in a very simple way without searching the Internet or technical documentation. A description of the procedures and additional conditions are displayed directly on the screen. You can think of: programming cruise control, regenerating particulate filter, coding atomizers, deactivating passenger airbag, adjusting idle speed, etc. Updates can be downloaded via a specially designed program; an Activator. The first 12 months the updates are free, for another year they will cost €90. Without updates, the interface continues to work normally.
